From June to November every year there are thousands of humpback whales that migrate north. The whales can be seen from the beaches at Mulumba (Point Lookout) and one of the best vantage points is the North Gorge.

Naree Budjong Djara National Park

Perfect place to spot whales (June to November), turtles, rays, kangaroos and other wildlife!! There's not too many places where you can stand on the land and have a fantastic view of whales as they migrate north each year. This is a gentle walk that offers outstanding views over the ocean and offers stunning views over Main Beach and down to the Gold Coast. 

North Gorge Walk

This is the best place to find koalas in the wild!! Just look for the eucalypt trees that koalas like to hang out it and if you find their distinctive droppings on the foothpath, look up! Located on the calm water side of the island, Amity Point is a laidback fishing village and is the perfect place to watch the sunset, find a koala or spot a dolphin! The Amity Point jetty is the most popular landmark.

The Straddie Club comes complete with kangaroos, koalas and a host of bird life. The 9 hole and 18 tee par 71 /2 course with grass greens and fairways is found on the upper slopes of Mt Hargrave in a bushland setting.

Please visit the fully licensed clubhouse for a cold beer and watch the kids play a game of putt putt. The clubhouse bistro, The Nineteenth , is open for lunch. It offers exquisite views of Brown Lake, and across Moreton Bay from Redland Bay to Brisbane, and north to the Glasshouse Mountains. Please call to confirm availability.

Feel the sand between your toes and enjoy the ocean sea spray at Main Beach on North Stradbroke Island's (Minjerribah) largest beach, stretching 32 kilometres from Point Lookout to the southern part of the island.

Patrolled year-round by the Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club, this spectacular beach is a popular destination, renowned for being a favourite amongst surfers and body boarders. The swells are generally large and it's a popular spot for its left-handed point breaks.

Main Beach is also a popular beach camping area, accessible via four-wheel drive from George Nothling Drive, Point Lookout (Mulumba) and Alfred Martin Way, Dunwich (Goompi). Vehicle access permits and camping permits are required and can be purchased from Minjerribah Camping.

North Stradbroke Island Surfschool operates all year round in the crystal clear waters of Point Lookout, dolphins and whales are often seen during lessons.

The North Stradbroke Island Surfing School has been a long running initiative of the local board-riders on North Stradbroke Island. The lessons will not only get the local kids ripping but also give holiday makers the chance to get up and surf like a pro. So why not get the kids into something active during their holidays, or go along and act like a kid yourself.

All ages are welcome and they cater for the absolute beginner to advanced coaching using video analysis. It is a great team building activity for school camps (Education Queensland International (EQI) approved sports, leisure and recreation provider) and corporate groups.

All coaches are accredited by the Australian Coaching Council and they operate under Surfing Australia guidelines. All equipment is supplied.

Brown Lake, also known as Bummiera to the Quandamooka People, is a pristine rainwater lake situated just outside the township of Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah). The lake's distinctive brown hue is a result of the surrounding melaleuca and tea-tree bushland.

This serene spot is a favored destination for swimming, offering amenities such as picnic tables, wood-fired barbecues, and composting toilets. Visitors can also explore the bush trails that encircle the lake, where they can spot native wildlife and admire the wildflowers that bloom in the Spring.

Bummiera holds significant cultural importance for the Quandamooka People, the Traditional Owners of Minjerribah and has a fascinating history. To learn more about the lake's history, visitors can stop by the North Stradbroke Island Historical Museum in Dunwich (Goompi).

The lake is situated within Naree Budjong Djara National Park, where dogs are not permitted. Access to the lake is via Brown Lake Drive, a dirt road suitable for cars (no 4WD required).

There are a range of permanent displays about the Quandamooka people, British invasion, convict history, shipwrecks and maritime history, the story of sand mining on the Island, as well as lots of photos of the old fishing shacks, boats and buses that helped kick off the tourism industry on Straddie.
There is also a room dedicated to sharing the story of the Dunwich Benevolent Asylum, and they have a range of photographs and documents to assist family historians.

Paula Boo, Minjerribah Island songbird, weaves her acoustic soul through her music and her art. She shares stories from her French Canadian, Lebanese and Norwegian ancestry to create a universal and uplifting voice that connects with the loved ones, the oceans, and the land in a celebration of life.

As a Fibre Artist, Paula uses a variety of traditional and innovative techniques, styles, and materials, mainly working with sustainably harvested natural fibres, beach treasure, various weeds, and sometimes she incorporates other found materials. She is currently exploring the fusion of metal works, ceramics, botanical printing and cyanotype with natural fibres.

Paula continues to explore and learn weaving and basketry techniques from traditional and contemporary weavers, whom she acknowledges as powerful women and men, always with respect for their ancient art forms. It is about sharing her knowledge with others whilst learning new techniques that will enable contemporary expressions of weaving as a vital art form.

If no signature is provided, your stay constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.</p><h2>1. Deposits &amp; Payments</h2><p>- Non-Refundable rates are charged in full at booking.</p><p>- Flexible rates require a 30% deposit, with final payment due 14 or 28 days before arrival as specified.</p><p>- Payments accepted by bank deposit or credit card only; no cash. Credit cards incur a 1.2% surcharge. Cardholder ID and card must be presented at check-in.</p><h2>2. Keys</h2><p>Lost/unreturned keys incur a $40 replacement fee.</p>

Ideal for two couples or 2 singles, this spacious apartment offers two comfortable queen bedrooms and plenty of room to relax and unwind. Bright and airy, it’s the perfect place to gather after a day of island adventures and soak up the peaceful surroundings.

Perfect for families, this spacious apartment features one queen bedroom and and a separate room with three single beds, offering plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher, and the bathroom comes with your own washing machine and dryer for added convenience. Some apartments can accommodate an extra guest upon direct request to the resort. Enjoy lovely views overlooking the sparkling pool and landscaped grounds— a great spot to unwind after a fun-filled day on the island.
